Total Estimated Expenses for UNN Newly Admitted Students

The total amount will work for almost all the departments in UNN.

Let me break it down….

By now, you should know that our acceptance fee is N25,000.

School fees for new students really depends on department. Just budget N80,000 for school fees. It really depends on your faculty, however, as of 2019/2020 session, that’s the highest!

You will be mandated to pay departmental and faculty dues. The price also depends on your department and faculty. The maximum amount for these dues is N8,000. Again I resound, it depends on your department and faculty!

Sometimes, class rep might tell you to pay some little departmental dues.., that one is just ‘cheese balls’ money 😇😊. Its not more than #300.

Textbooks: Goodnews; buying of textbooks in UNN is not compulsory.. There are few exceptions sha! Budget N10,000+ (depending on department).

Now about accommodation.

If you will stay in hostel, the HIGHEST you will pay is N20,000. It now depends on either boys or girls hostel.

If you will stay Off-campus.., it now depends on the type of lodge.. You will get a comfortable lodge for N150,000. Please note that the amount is estimated. You will see lodges cheaper and even more expensive.

For those that will stay in single room (all the tenants in the building share the same toilet and bathroom).., You will see a comfortable single room of N60,000. Similarly, there are more cheaper and costly single rooms.

Furnishing the room to an average student level will cost an average of N30,000 (covers; bed, carpet, kitchen utensils, and small food ).

Pocket money….

haha…this one depends on your sponsor’s pocket. If they give you N500… Just manage it😉😏.

Now the TOTAL AMOUNT…:

For people that will stay in hostel..budget at least: N150,000. You have change self. Use the change and add to that N500 pocket money 😊😊.

For People that will stay Off Campus:

If you will stay in single room, you should budget at least N200,000

while those staying in self-contained should budget N300,000.

Trust me, you will have change.. maybe like N10,000 or so…

You will have to use the change as your feeding fee throughout your 100level. Don’t go tell dad to give you shi-shi oooo 😉….
