UniAbuja Declares 100-Level Student Missing

The University of Abuja has appealed to the public for help in locating a missing 100-level Accounting student, Sadiya Usman, who disappeared while on her way to write an examination in Abuja.

The management of University of Abuja has appealed to the public for urgent help in locating a missing undergraduate student, Sadiya Usman, who reportedly disappeared while on her way to write an examination.

The university disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday by its Acting Director of Information and University Relations, Habib Yakoob.

According to the statement, Sadiya Usman is a 100-level student in the Department of Accounting. She was last seen after leaving her residence at Kontagora Estate, Gwagwalada, Abuja, at about 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2026. She was heading to the university’s main campus to sit for her CBT examination (GST 111) but has not been seen since.

The statement added that her guardian reported her missing after all attempts to reach her failed, as her phone line has remained unreachable and her whereabouts unknown.

The university said it has activated internal safety protocols and is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure that every necessary step is taken to locate the student promptly and safely.

Expressing concern over her safety, the institution called on members of the public to assist with any useful information that could help in finding her.

Anyone with information about Sadiya Usman’s whereabouts is advised to contact the nearest police station or report to the Directorate of Safety of the University of Abuja. The public may also contact Mohammed Yelwa on 08038739945 or the University of Abuja on 09036836734.

The university reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and security of all students and stated that updates would be provided as developments unfold.
