Some students of a Nigerian University, University of Benin have called out a popular lecturer for raping and asking for sex in return for grades from past and present students.

Some alumni and present students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have called out a popular lecturer for raping students and asking for sex in return for grades.
The issue escalated on social media after an X user claimed that the lecturer who identifies as Tony Asekhuno, raped her in his office while she was in her final year.
Her tweet read;
“Tony Asekhuno failed my logic deliberately 3 times until he raped me in his office in final year and gave me a C. I kept failing because I refused to date him”

After her revelation on social media, other students who recognized the lecturer immediately trooped under the comment section of the post to share their experience with the said lecturer.
According to their tweets, the lecturer would fail his victims if they refused to date or get intimate with him and he would sometimes rape them.
Some of the students also alleged that the University’s management was aware of his misconduct but ignored it.
While many internet users called on the appropriate authorities to investigate the situation, more victims kept coming out.
One of his victims wrote;
“Shit! Philosophy Tony? Uniben Tony? That bastard told me to be grateful to God for my height else he would have had me and I was not even in his department and Okwe and Kola whose office I was in laughed at the joke When Okwe got down with a stroke, I knelt down in my room thanking God [sic]”
