CURSORY: The University of Jos (UNIJOS) plateau state has threatened to revoke the degrees of its graduates who have been found to have poor moral character.


According to Professor Tanko Ishaya, the vice-chancellor of UNIJOS, the choice was made in order to uphold the institution’s reputation.
He also said that many individuals who are positively impacting mankind worldwide had received training from UNIJOS.
University of Jos (UNIJOS) Alumni who have been found to be lacking in character have been given a severe warning from the school administration.
According to Daily Trust, Professor Tanko Ishaya, the university’s vice-chancellor, declared that the institution would not think twice about revoking the diplomas of graduates who goes against their rules.
Ishaya also stated that the dramatic move was taken to uphold the excellent reputation and high status that UNIJOS has built over the years.
During the oath taking ceremony for the class of 2021/2022 and 2022/2023, He said, “UNIJOS will not allow any of its students or alumni to bring the university’s name to disrepute through deviant behavior,” as reported by The Nation.
According to the vice chancellor, certificates are given to UNIJOS graduates based on their evaluation of their character and academic performance.
Out of 57,333 candidates, he said that only 8,469 including three foreigners, were accepted into the university.
