The management of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo town, Ondo State, has called on interested returnee medical students from Ukraine to enrol for the continuous medical training as a stop-gap in the institution.

The Chief Medical Director, Dr Oluwole Ige, in a statement, said the gesture was being offered to the interested students at no cost.
The statement was made available to Punch by the Head of Media and Publicity of the hospital, Mr Akinjide Oluwatope, on Saturday.
According to the statement, the decision was reached having considered the unexpected interruption of the students’ studies by recent international events which is beyond their control.
The statement read, “The CMD advised them to maximise the opportunities for learning at UNIMED Teaching Hospital in Ondo State while it lasts. He assured that UNIMED Teaching Hospital is set to meet their training aspirations and clinical exposure during the period.
“Dr Ige explained that the students across the country and other African nations have been accessing qualitative medical and clinical training at the institution.
“The Chief Medical Director also advised the interested students to visit the office of the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee at The Medical Village, Laje Road Ondo, for further details on the processes for registration.”
