Professor Bashir Garba has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, starting September 1, 2024, following a distinguished academic and administrative career.
The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has appointed Professor Bashir Garba as the new Vice-Chancellor during its 168th special meeting, with his five-year term starting on September 1, 2024.
Professor Garba, a seasoned academic and former Vice-Chancellor of Sokoto State University, holds a Ph.D. in Applied Chemistry from Usmanu Danfodiyo University and has held various administrative positions, including Secretary to the Sokoto State Government and Rector of the Polytechnic of Sokoto State.
In his academic career, Professor Garba rose to the rank of professor in 2002 and has been actively involved in numerous committees within and outside the university.
