12 Students Bag First Class Degree In Edo Varsity

Twelve graduating students of the Edo State University, Uzairue, have bagged First Class honour in the institution in the 2022/2023 academic session.

Engr. Prof Emmanuel Aluyor, the institution’s Vice Chancellor, disclosed this on Monday while briefing journalists as part of activities marking the 5th convocation ceremony of the university.

Prof Aluyor said a total of 414 students comprising undergraduate and postgraduate students are graduating from the institution.

He said;

“12 students obtained first class honours, 154 second class honours (Upper Division), 234  got second class honours (Lower Division), while 14 graduated with third class degrees.”

Professor Aluyor said the institution has experienced growth in both student enrollment and the number of faculties and departments. He also added that the university has gotten approval from the National University Commission (NUC) to commence additional new programmes.

He restated that the University’s commitment to its long-standing practice of giving a prize of N5 million to the graduating student with the most innovative and potentially lucrative business idea.
