An 18-year-od Cameroonian has been awarded a school to study Engineering after gaining recognition for building airplanes and drones from scratch using locally sourced material.

Vidiol Tsague, an 18-year-old from Cameroon, has been awarded a scholarship to study Engineering at a university after gaining recognition for building airplanes and drones from scratch using local materials.
Vidiol’s talent came to light through videos posted on TikTok, where he showcases his homemade planes and drones constructed from materials like cardboard, cartons, and wires. He has dedicated over eight years to designing and creating airplane prototypes.
Due to armed conflict in his region and financial difficulties, Vidiol was forced to drop out of secondary school three years ago. Despite being from a family of four children, his parents struggled to meet their basic needs.
In his TikTok videos, Vidiol often demonstrates his aircraft, some measuring about 2 meters long, flying along the streets with the aid of a remote control. His impressive creations caught the attention of government officials in Yaounde, Cameroon, who provided a battery to help him fly his prototype.
Vidiol’s exceptional skills have captivated many, including organizations and government officials. Recognizing his potential, an organization awarded him a scholarship to complete his education and pursue his engineering dreams.
