In her words:
Since my inception as a corp member and owing to the fact that I recently developed interests in Sustainable Development Goals, I’ve been able to identify the immediate need of my host community and commenced actions towards proffering a solution.
The amazing support my friend Osaretin Michael (Loran) received from LinkedIn is commendable, it has revealed to me the large number of people with compassion for humanity and has simultaneously inspired me to take a shot at executing this project I had conceived earlier on.
Attached are pictures taken from Kpong Community in Khana LGA, Ogoni, Rivers State. The river as seen here, is the primary source of water for all their daily needs such as drinking, bathing and cooking. It is disheartening to see the underprivileged living conditions of fellow humans.
Providing access to clean water isn’t just a task of charity, it is an act of justice. The protection of a fundamental human right. The right to dignity and a decent life. It is in fact a key towards unlocking an enormous human potential.
This is why I’m embarking on a project to drill a motorized borehole for the people of Kpong.
Lawal had in 2020 celebrated bagging first-class honors in the Accounting department and the overall best graduating student at Achievers University Owo, a private university in Ondo State, Nigeria.
Kindly celebrate my big feat😁
I graduated at the age of 19 with a B.Sc in Accounting First Class Honours and as the Best Graduating Student in my department.
This accomplishment is so dear to me because I only became a first class student in my final year.
My life changed when I started having a growth mindset.
The conviction that intelligence, ability and performance can be improved!
The belief that God has given me the potentials to be whoever I want to be and it’s my responsibility to make it a reality by putting in the efforts.
I started with a 3.92 GPA and ended with a 5.00 GPA, I worked for this and I’m so happy to see it all fall in place.
We are so proud of you, Bilqees Lawal, keep impacting lives. Keep making a difference.
Thank you so much for reading. We will appreciate it if you share this with your loved ones.
