27-Year-Old Nigerian Man Wins Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to Study in France and Greece

Ojo Gabriel, a 27-year-old Nigerian who won the Erasmus Mundus PANGEA Scholarship to pursue a fully funded Master’s degree in Applied Paleontology in France and Greece, has completed his studies with a research internship, published international research, and is now pursuing a fully-funded PhD at the University of Texas, Austin.

Ojo Gabriel, a 27-year-old Nigerian, has won the prestigious Erasmus Mundus PANGEA Scholarship, enabling him to pursue a fully funded two-year Master’s degree in Applied Paleontology across Greece and France.

Gabriel shared his journey on LinkedIn, detailing his academic accomplishments from his undergraduate studies at Osun State University, where he graduated with a 4.82 GPA in Geology in 2019, to his recent achievements.

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree PANGEA program offers specialized training in paleontology, conservation, and geoheritage, with full funding that covers tuition, accommodation, travel, and a €1500 monthly stipend for living expenses.

In 2022, Gabriel began his studies in France at the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology and later continued at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. During this time, he also published his first international research in Biostratigraphy.

By 2024, Gabriel completed his master’s thesis at the University of Lille and began a research internship at the Institut des Sciences de la Terre (ISTerre) in France.

He subsequently received a fully-funded PhD offer in Geological and Earth Sciences at the University of Texas, Austin, where he is currently pursuing his doctorate. Gabriel expressed his gratitude for the support from his mentors, friends, and scholars, and looks forward to the future, crediting his success to God.
