Unity Bank Plc has distributed 10 million naira as commercial grants to 30 NYSC members in its 7th edition youth entrepreneurship and empowerment program Corpreneurship Challenge.


The competition produced 30 winners in the final commercial competition which were members of the 2021 Batch C Stream I Corps.
The competitions were held in Lagos, Bayelsa, Ogun, Benin, Enugu, Sokoto, Argentina Held at NYSC camps in Kwaibom, Ozon, Kano and Abuja.
100 applicants were shortlisted and 30 of them received various cash prizes.
N200,000 cash grant was given to each runner-up, N300,000 grants to the first place, and N500,000 to each runner-up.
The business plans of the contestants ranging from fish production, poultry farming, fashion, soap and cake making, printing, pig raising to beverages, are evaluated based on originality, marketability, future employability, product potential and business knowledge.
A graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) whose fingerling farming business plan won him a star award said:
“Due to the 2.5 million metric tons of fish supply shortage in Nigeria, I proposed fingerling farming.
“I am very grateful to Unity Bank for giving me this opportunity, which will greatly help improve the country’s economy.
“This is a family business, and this grant will really help us expand our business and work hard to make up for the deficit.”
In Lagos, Olufunwa Akinmade, Group Head of Unity Bank Retail, E-commerce and SME Banking, said as a Nigerian-oriented company. High-quality business competition for emerging entrepreneurs, the competition is maturing day by day.
