Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State revealed that 77 communities lack public schools, and his administration is working to address the issue while also focusing on fiscal sustainability, teacher support, and youth empowerment.

Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has revealed that 77 communities in the state do not have public schools. He emphasized that his administration is actively working to address this issue and provide educational options for the people of Anambra, pledging continued support for teachers’ professional development.
Speaking at a meeting with public school leaders in Anambra, Soludo stated, “Securing our future is a collective effort, and we must act now. It is the best investment we can make.” He noted that the absence of public schools in these communities is a key focus for the government.
Soludo also discussed financial matters, mentioning the inherited pension and gratuity arrears, which are being cleared, and reassured that retirees under his leadership would receive their entitlements once properly documented. Despite being approved to borrow 100 billion naira since taking office, he emphasized that no borrowing has been done to avoid burdening the future, though he will borrow for capacity-building projects.
The governor highlighted his administration’s achievements, including the recruitment of 8,115 teachers, over 1,000 doctors and health personnel, the empowerment of 5,000 youths, and the inclusion of an additional 8,000 youths in the “One Youth, Two Skills” entrepreneurship scheme.
