The Ebonyi state government, on Tuesday, February 14, directed that all schools in the state be shut from Feb. 22 to March 13, 2023 to enable students and other eligible voters to partake in the 2023 general elections.

The state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Uchenna Orji, told newsmen that the decision was the outcome of the state’s Executive Council meeting on Monday.
The closure is to be observed by all private and public primary and secondary schools in the state effective from February 22 2023. He further added that the school’s academic session would be extended by three weeks to cover the lost academic period.
