CURSORY: A lady, Favour Peters graduates from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as the best student after five scholarship rejections.


Favour Peters applied for five different university scholarships after completing her senior secondary school.
She enrolled at KNUST despite everyone’s rejections, and she eventually earned a bachelor’s degree with honors.
Upon posting her journey, struggles, and accomplishments on LinkedIn, admirers flocked to her comment section.
Following five rejections from various scholarship organizations, Favour Peters finally made history as the top student in her program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
She won the College of Health Sciences Excellence Award for Best Innovative Student in the School of Public Health.
She faced obstacles due to her finances on the way to reaching the milestone, but she persevered.
“After completing my senior high school education, I applied for five different scholarships and was rejected by all of them. I had to stay back one year to work menial jobs at 16 to help my parents raise enough money to cover my tuition and accommodation fees,” she stated
When Peters enrolled in KNUST as a first-generation student at the age of 17 she didn’t let the fact that she was without a scholarship deter her from achieving her goals.
“I had set for myself and making the most of my four-year journey. My parents encouraged me to be relentless and never lose hope.”
She was chosen for the Empowering Africa Inc. 100% Tuition Scholarship during her second year, and the Director of Student Affairs office paid for her accomodations.
“I was also selected for HE John A Kufuor Scholars Programme and the Young African Leadership Initiative, West Africa RLC! In my Senior Year. I have a bachelor’s degree in Disability and Rehabilitation Studies from KNUST with first class honours,” she said in a LinkedIn post.
Peters had received praise from online users for graduating at the top of her class.
