Nigerian woman, Oluwapelumi Edunjobi graduated from the University of Ibadan with a first-class bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, achieving a remarkable 3.91 out of 4.00 CGPA, also emerged the best graduating student in her faculty.
A highly accomplished Nigerian woman, Oluwapelumi Edunjobi, has graduated from the University of Ibadan with a first-class bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, achieving a remarkable 3.91 out of 4.00 cumulative grade point average.
She was also honored as the best graduating student in her faculty. Oluwapelumi’s outstanding academic performance earned her the top position as the best graduating student in both the Faculty of Technology and the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ibadan.
She celebrated her impressive achievements on Twitter, sharing her joy in securing top honors in multiple categories, including being the best graduating female student in her faculty.
She proudly tweeted: “Reintroducing: Oluwapelumi Egunjobi GMNSE GMNIEE. Best Graduating Student, Department of Civil Engineering. Best Graduating Female, Faculty of Technology, University of Ibadan. Co-best Graduating Student, Faculty of Technology, University of Ibadan CGPA: 3.91/4.00.”
Additionally, Oluwapelumi was inducted as a Distinguished Graduate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, where she delivered an induction speech emphasizing the significance of communal interconnectivity.
During her time at university, she received several accolades and held leadership roles in various organizations. Her awards include the University of Ibadan Student Union Academic Excellence Award in 2023, the Total/NNPC Scholarship (2019-2023), and an internship at Chevron Nigeria Limited.
In 2022, she received the Nigerian Society of Engineers Ibadan Chapter Award of Excellence and was the runner-up in the National Civil Engineering Competition (NICESA OAU). She also received multiple departmental and faculty recognitions.
Oluwapelumi has actively participated in student organizations and NGOs, holding leadership positions in IEEE Women in Engineering, TESA LnD Society, and Ecovanguard.
She also contributed to organizing the 11th, 12th, and 13th Annual NICESA UI Conferences.
Looking ahead, Oluwapelumi is enthusiastic about pursuing an advanced degree in Environmental Engineering. She aims to focus on the synergy between sustainable building practices, energy solutions, and environmental impact.
