Isreal Olawunmi, a young Nigerian lawyer, achieved remarkable success, earning a Master’s degree in Law in the US and securing admission into both the Nigerian Bar and the New York Bar. This milestone marks a significant achievement in his legal career.
Isreal began his journey at Ekiti State University (EKSU), Nigeria, earning his LL.B degree in 2019. He graduated from the Nigerian Law School in 2020, being called to the Nigerian Bar. After practicing law in Nigeria, he pursued graduate studies at American University Washington College of Law, earning an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and Technology Law in 2022.
He then took the New York Bar Examination, balancing work and intense preparation. His perseverance paid off; he passed and was admitted into the New York Bar, making him dual-qualified.
Celebrating, Isreal described it as life-changing, crediting family, friends, and mentors. He dedicated the achievement to his late mother, honoring her memory. “A boy from Ketu, Lagos, now an attorney in the US,” he encourages young people never to give up on dreams.
Isreal looks forward to new opportunities and professional growth globally. To practice law in Nigeria, foreign-trained lawyers must complete Bar Part I at the Nigerian Law School.
