Cursory: Any student who is studying for a major exam may find the process stressful and time-consuming. However, one medical student on TikTok has shared “the only reason” they consistently pass their exams, and the straightforward advice seems to be hitting a chord with a lot of people.
According to @mymoxzi, who frequently posts videos about how to prepare for tests, the secret is tracing. In one popular video, they use a square of tracing paper to cover their computer screen as they draw the outline of the foot and ankle.
When finished, each component of the foot is clearly labeled and the page is placed inside their notebook alongside other pertinent notes.
The method typically works best for visual learners, who are more likely to remember information through sight and other visual clues. This indicates that individuals do better when seated near the front of the room, when utilizing flashcards, or when using notes that are color-coded. Drawing and doodling notes or other items to stimulate memory can also significantly improve recall.
In one, the TikToker seems to completely map out the stress fractures to the tibia and fibula. In another, she’s drawn a gallbladder and colored it in.
