The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has granted a free on-campus accommodation to Aminat Ajikobi, a 300-level female student, who was captured in a viral video showing her living in a flooded house.


The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has granted free on-campus accommodation to Aminat Ajikobi, a 300-level female student, following the release of a viral video showing her living in a flooded house.
Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, the Head of UNILAG’s Communication Unit, confirmed that Ajikobi will receive this accommodation for the remainder of her studies at the university.
This gesture reflects UNILAG’s commitment to the welfare of its students. Mrs. Alaga-Ibraheem emphasized the university’s dedication to supporting students through various social support programs. She thanked the university community and external stakeholders for their concern and support following the video’s release.
Ajikobi, who has since moved from the flooded house to live with a guardian, has accepted the university’s offer. She also expressed gratitude to the donors who credited her and the video producer’s accounts with millions of naira in donations.
