The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is currently facing backlash following accusations that it attempted to conceal the deaths of students resulting from a recent tragic accident on the university road.

The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is facing severe criticism following accusations that it attempted to conceal the deaths resulting from a recent tragic accident on the university road.
Reports indicate that the accident tragically claimed the lives of over seven students, while several others sustained critical injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Students have taken to social media to express their outrage, accusing the university of attempting to conceal the deaths of the victims. Specifically, they point to the case of a female student who shared a video of the accident.
According to allegations, the university management has taken action against her, accusing her of spreading misinformation.
One student vented their frustration, stating, “It’s very typical of Unilorin to want to cover up the fact that people died in that accident, as if we all didn’t witness it. Very, very typical. Hate it here, man.”
Students further criticized what they perceive as a pattern of cover-ups by the university administration. One student remarked, “Just imagine, they always try to cover things up. I can remember the accident that occurred one faithful night on Tuesday, they still cover that one up also they’ve taken the person that uploaded the video to student affairs accusing them of ‘spreading misinformation’.”
The university is yet to respond publicly to the allegations and criticisms.
