Adeleke University has dismissed as fake news a report alleging the rape and death of a 100-level male student, vowing to protect its students and pursue legal action against the originators of the false information.

The management of Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, has refuted a report claiming that a 100-level male student was raped and killed by 500-level male students, labeling it as fake news.
In a statement signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Solomon Adebola, the university denounced the “malicious and misleading” information allegedly spread by a source called AU TV, which the institution said is not affiliated with its management.
As a faith-based institution, the university reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding students from sexual harassment and exploitation. It emphasized that the false report aims to tarnish its reputation and assured the public that it remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students.
The statement further warned those responsible for spreading the false information to desist, adding that the university is taking legal action to hold them accountable.
