Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has launched a program to provide free school uniforms to 796,092 pupils across 7,092 public schools, aimed at easing the financial burden on families and promoting education in the state.

Speaking during the launch in Kano on Tuesday, Governor Yusuf highlighted the initiative’s role in encouraging school attendance, improving student morale, and enhancing the teaching and learning process. He called on parents and guardians to ensure their children attend school regularly, emphasizing education as a cornerstone for societal development.

“This initiative demonstrates our administration’s commitment to quality education by training and retaining personnel, supplying teaching materials, and addressing the issue of out-of-school children in the state,” Yusuf stated.

The State Commissioner for Education, Ali Makoda, also praised the dedication of teachers and reiterated the government’s focus on empowering the next generation with tools for success.

This initiative marks a significant step in supporting families and advancing education across Kano State.
