American Journalist Earns MBA, Becomes First College Graduate in Her Family

At 28, American journalist Alexis Clark earned an MBA from Tennessee State University, becoming the first in her family to graduate college, while 17-year-old Makenzie Williams secured over $1.4 million in scholarships after graduating top of her high school class.

At just 28 years old, Alexis Clark, an American journalist and news reporter for The Leaf-Chronicle, has made history in her family by becoming the first person to graduate from college. She recently earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Tennessee State University, marking a significant personal and professional milestone.

Clark began her academic journey at Tennessee State University in 2015, where she pursued a degree in Mass Communication. She graduated with her bachelor’s in 2019 and returned several years later to complete her MBA, motivated by a desire to push herself further and fulfill a lifelong dream.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Alexis described her journey as one rooted in faith, growth, and resilience. She proudly celebrated the fact that she completed her graduate studies debt-free, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and planning.

“The dream was always written,” she reflected in her post. “I am the first college graduate in my family and now hold a master’s degree. This journey was not easy, but it was worth it.”

Clark credited her success to divine guidance and the unwavering support of her community. She expressed deep gratitude for the challenges she overcame and for the individuals who believed in her along the way.

“For me, this achievement is more than academic. It’s emotional, spiritual, and a promise I made to myself,” she said.
