Khadijah Abu Seidu, a mother of three from Ghana, graduated as the best student in the University of Cape Coast’s Midwifery Top-Up program with a CGPA of 3.80, earning multiple accolades and a scholarship for her master’s degree, showcasing resilience and dedication.


Khadijah Abu Seidu, a resilient mother of three from Ghana, has achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating as the overall best student in the Bachelor of Science (Midwifery Top-Up) program at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) with an outstanding CGPA of 3.80.
Her academic excellence also earned her top honors in the BSc. Nursing-Top Up, BSc. Midwifery-Top Up, and Diploma in Midwifery programs, along with a prestigious scholarship to pursue a two-year MPhil or MSc program in Nursing or Midwifery.
Khadijah’s journey began with her exceptional performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). She continued her education at Ghana Secondary School, achieving aggregate 17 in the WASSCE, before obtaining a Diploma in Midwifery at Tamale Community Health Nursing School. She later advanced her studies at Pantang Nursing and Midwifery Training College from 2019 to 2022.
Balancing her roles as a wife, mother, and student, Khadijah overcame significant challenges to excel in her academic pursuits, showcasing unwavering dedication and resilience.
During UCC’s graduation ceremony, Khadijah was celebrated for her extraordinary achievements, including:
• Overall Best Graduating Student in the BSc. Nursing-Top Up, BSc. Midwifery-Top Up, and Diploma in Midwifery programs.
• Best Graduating Student in BSc. Midwifery-Top Up (Centre-Based).
