Following the fees increment in Delta State University, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Andy Egwuyenya urged students to defer semester and return when they have money in a leak recording between him and the Provost of the Oleh Campus.


According to the conversation, the VC Prof. Andy Egwuyenga asked the new students who feel bad about the new school fees to write a letter of deferment to the school and defer. Then come back when they have money.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Andy Egwuyenya resumed office after the authoritarian rule of Prof. Victor Peretomode which ended in 2019.

His first tenure was marked with school fees increment by 30%. However, a planned protest was foiled by threats of expulsion.
He however was viewed by staff as ingenious due to his promotion of charity and good relationship with staff.
Following the next increment, the school has made it mandatory to pay above 200,000 for school fees for 100level students. After vigorous payments on acceptance fee, Medicals, dues and some other payments.
The SUG has been reportedly mute and quiet on this.
