The President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmad Lawan has promised that lawmakers would look into the indiscriminate increment of registration fees by tertiary institutions, especially in the northern part of the country.


This was revealed during a courtesy visit by the Coalition of Northern Groups Students Wing(CNG-SW) led by its National Coordinator, Jamiu Aliyu Charanchi.

The Senate President who announced this on Wednesday, Feb 2 in Abuja, said the Senate would swing into action by engaging the relevant authorities to prevent anything that could disrupt their learning process.
The senator said a hike in fees was very unnecessary at the moment and believes that the government must prioritize education, by not only establishing the Institutions but in supporting students all the way.
