He chose to pursue an MSc at UNILAG to deepen his knowledge and tackle challenges faced in the field, following advice from a mentor who highlighted the university’s strong faculty and research facilities. The convenience of studying in Lagos, where he also works, influenced his decision.
Hassan found the MSc program relatively easier compared to his undergraduate studies, despite the challenges of balancing work and family. His success, including setting a record at UNILAG, stemmed from a commitment to excellence and a dislike of failure.
He dedicated his spare time to studying and often studied with friends who also achieved good grades. Hassan emphasized the importance of helping others succeed, which he considers a key to his own success.
Hassan learned of his perfect CGPA when the postgraduate coordinator, surprised by the achievement, informed him during a phone call. His joy was immense, especially as he had found some courses initially intimidating.
Currently, Hassan is focused on his career, aspiring to become a professional consultant specializing in safe and sustainable building, non-destructive testing, building inspection, and condition assessment.
He is also considering a career in academia and is exploring opportunities abroad for a Ph.D. in construction materials, non-destructive testing (NDT), sustainable infrastructure, and 3D printing.
His passion for continuous learning drives him to seek new knowledge and expand his expertise.
