Abdulkareem Yusuf and his wife, Maryam, both received their Master’s degrees from Lagos State University (LASU) on the same day.

Yusuf announced the achievement on X.com on Thursday, sharing pictures of himself and his wife in their convocation gowns during LASU’s 27th convocation ceremony.

Yusuf, who completed a Master’s in Chemical and Polymer Engineering, graduated with a perfect Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0.

He expressed their happiness by writing, “I earned an MSc in Chemical and Polymer Engineering with a perfect CGPA of 5.00 at the 27th LASU Convocation (2024). “It’s a combined celebration as my wife, #OkeowoMaryam, also received her Master of Laws on the same day, at the same school. #LASUOfficial #jidesanwoolu #MScCGPAof5.00 We are LASU; We are Great.”

In response, the university congratulated the couple, referring to them as Mr. and Mrs. LASU Convocation on X.

The institution’s 27th convocation took place from May 30 to June 6, with 8,670 students graduating with first degrees. Among them, 3,029 were in the second-class upper division, 715 in the second-class lower division, 228 with a pass, and 195 with non-classified degrees.
