A FUOYE lecturer went viral for playfully joining a student’s TikTok video, earning praise for his lighthearted and relatable approach to student interactions.

A Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) lecturer has captured social media’s attention after unexpectedly joining a student’s TikTok recording in a lighthearted moment that has amused many online.
In the now-viral video, shared by TikTok user @just_aliza01, the student was filming herself dancing on a staircase within a campus building when she noticed the lecturer approaching. Out of respect, she quickly paused to let him pass. However, to her surprise, instead of simply walking away, the lecturer briefly looked into the camera, stroked his eyebrow, and playfully joined in, switching from a formal demeanor to a relaxed and fun one.
Reacting to the unexpected moment, the student humorously referenced a recent viral controversy at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), where a female student was expelled for recording a lecturer in her video. She captioned her post: “POV: I almost got ‘Uniziked,’ but it was Dr. Steeze.”
Social media users have widely praised Dr. Steeze’s approach, with many commending his ability to connect with students in a positive and relatable manner.
One user, @Tonia_ify, commented: “Everything about this video, apart from that one girl who looked like a weapon formed against you, is just pure maturity! 100% composure, STEEZE, this is how life should be.”
Another user, @Nwene__keyzz, added: “You can clearly see the respect she has for the lecturer, and the lecturer himself is even on TikTok. Not like the other one who felt disrespected.”
