UNIZIK has confirmed the expulsion of Precious Mbakwe for assaulting a lecturer, stating that due process was followed and reaffirming its commitment to discipline and integrity.


The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has officially responded to the expulsion of Precious Mbakwe, a student who was involved in a physical altercation with a lecturer.
UNIZIK recently made headlines after a viral video surfaced showing Mbakwe physically assaulting a male lecturer who had interrupted her while she was filming a dance video. Following the incident, the university released a statement announcing her expulsion.
In a follow-up statement, the university provided further clarification on the decision, stating that both the assaulted lecturer and Mbakwe were given a fair hearing before the Students’ Disciplinary Committee, which was tasked with investigating the matter.
According to the statement, Mbakwe’s expulsion was based on the committee’s findings and recommendations. The university also instructed her to return all university property in her possession immediately.
Furthermore, UNIZIK reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline and integrity within the institution. Part of the statement reads:
“All parties involved were granted a fair hearing by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee. After a comprehensive review, the actions of Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious were deemed to constitute gross misconduct and a violation of Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s disciplinary regulations.”
