Mater Amabilis Secondary School, located in Umuoji, Anambra State, has emerged as the winners of the 2023 National Entrepreneurship Exhibition and Awards competition.
This remarkable victory followed intense competition among the top 20 secondary schools nationwide. The annual competition, organized by the Nigerian segment of the Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship, aims to equip students with entrepreneurial and technical skills.
The event, which took place from June 25 to 28, 2023, at the Area Council Service Commission House in Garki, Abuja, showcased the innovative ideas and entrepreneurial abilities of the participating teams.
The judges were particularly impressed by the outstanding projects presented by Mater Amabilis Secondary School, securing them the first position overall.
Their projects included a hydroelectric device that converts salt water into electricity and a versatile agricultural machine capable of performing tasks such as weeding, irrigation, seeding, fumigation, and monitoring soil moisture and nutrient levels.
These groundbreaking solutions demonstrated the students’ creativity, innovation, and dedication to addressing pressing societal challenges.
Mater Amabilis Secondary School’s achievement grants them the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the upcoming SAGE World Cup in Italy later this year.
