19-Year-Old Nigerian I’m Graduates with 4.87 CGPA, Wins Prestigious Student Award

Osaze Ogedegbe, a 19-year-old Nigerian, graduated from Nile University with a first-class degree in Information Technology, a 4.87 CGPA, and leadership accolades, overcoming stage fright and personal challenges through determination, faith, and a focus on personal growth.

Osaze Ogedegbe, a 19-year-old Nigerian, has graduated from Nile University, Abuja, with a first-class degree in Information Technology, achieving an outstanding CGPA of 4.87 out of 5.00 and earning the award for the second-best graduating student in his department.

Osaze began his university journey in 2020 as a shy and introverted student who avoided extracurricular activities and public speaking due to stage fright. However, in 2023, he made two transformative decisions: to delve into data science and to step out of his comfort zone. Trusting God for strength, he overcame his fears, leading to remarkable personal growth and achievements.

Reflecting on his journey, Osaze advised students to balance academics with personal development, emphasizing the importance of building a personal brand during university years. He stated, “Work hard in your academics, but don’t underestimate the value of extracurricular activities and putting yourself out there. You’ll never know how far you can go until you take that first step.”

In addition to his academic excellence, Osaze displayed strong leadership skills. He served as a Student Ambassador, IT Director of the Nile Games Club, and Campus Director for the Millennium Fellowship ’24. He also launched “The Kernel Corner” interview series, facilitated a Python workshop, presented research at international conferences, and participated in the International Career Coaching Program (ICCP).

Grateful for the support of his parents, sister, lecturers, and friends, Osaze expressed his gratitude to God for the strength to overcome challenges and excel. As he looks forward to the next chapter of his journey, he holds on to the verse, *Ecclesent and personal branding. As he embarks on his next chapter, he reflects on Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
