A Nigerian man went viral after urging parents who can’t afford school fees to stop sending their daughters to school and instead invest in teaching them trades, sparking mixed reactions online.

A young Nigerian man has sparked debate online after advising parents not to send their daughters to school if they cannot consistently cover the cost of education.
In a trending video, he cautioned:
“Nigerian parents, if you know you can’t afford your daughters’ school fees, please stop sending them to school.”
According to him, many families force their daughters into schools—sometimes even universities—without being able to provide adequate financial support. He argued that this often leaves the girls stranded, forcing them to find survival alternatives that could put them in harm’s way.
Instead, he suggested that parents should invest their limited resources in teaching their daughters a trade or small business. “It’s better to train a girl in a skill, open a shop for her, and help her become good at it, than to leave her struggling in school without support,” he explained.
The man also claimed that many young women in higher institutions end up becoming vulnerable to internet fraudsters, ritualists, or turning to hookups and other risky lifestyles just to survive. He lamented that, in some cases, female students even send money back home to their parents instead of receiving support.
His conclusion: parents who cannot fully afford school fees should prioritize vocational training for their daughters rather than forcing them into formal education they cannot sustain.

Bro Fidel commented:
“Your point makes some sense, but look at women like Marie Curie and Oprah Winfrey. Most great women came from tough beginnings before becoming successful.”
Emmanuel wrote:
“So what about the boys? Are you saying male children should still go to school even when parents can’t afford it? That doesn’t make sense.”
BigSam added:
“People think education is just about making money. But have you ever entered a room of educated people compared to a room of uneducated people? There’s a clear difference in communication, ideas, and presentation. Education is not only about money.”
D3mzy reacted:
“What about male children? This guy must be high; he looks like a junkie.”
Responding to him, Hulk defended the original speaker:
“Stop attacking people. He’s just saying the truth. Nowadays, it’s rare to find a female student who isn’t doing hookups in one way or another because funds are not there. At least a man can hustle differently.”
