UNIZIK Notice on Illegal Collection/extortion Of Money From Students.

The University Management, at its 361st Meeting held on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025, noted with dismay the rising cases of illegal collection/extortion of money from students by members of staff (both teaching and non-teaching). It further noted that these extortions are often made compulsory, leaving students with no option but to comply.
To address this, Management has directed that:
- No staff member should extort or illegally collect money from students under any guise.
- Severe consequences will be imposed on staff members found guilty of such acts.
Students are hereby warned to:
- Desist from offering money to staff for any purpose, whether under duress or willingly.
- Report any such incidents to the University Authority.
- All payments should be made into the University/Faculty/Departmental accounts as provided and not into the personal account of any staff member.
This memo serves as a WARNING to both staff and students.
