119 Students Achieve First Class Honors at FUT Minna


Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta of FUT Minna announced that 119 students will graduate with First Class honors amidst a total of 5,816 graduates this academic session while addressing various university developments and accommodation challenges.

In an exciting announcement, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, revealed that a remarkable 119 students will graduate with First Class honors.

During a pre-convocation briefing held at the university on Tuesday, Kuta shared that a total of 5,816 students are set to graduate in the 2023/2024 academic session. This group includes 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s graduates, 105 Post Graduate Diploma recipients, and 124 PhD graduates.

Kuta outlined the classification of undergraduate degrees, stating: “The breakdown is as follows: 119 First Class, 1,431 Second Class Upper, 2,341 Second Class Lower, 972 Third Class, and 92 Pass degrees.”

He emphasized that all programs offered at the university have received full accreditation and highlighted the institution’s commitment to enhancing education through e-learning platforms.

In his address, Kuta disclosed several developments within the university, including the awarding of study fellowships and the sponsorship of 112 staff members to participate in workshops and conferences. Furthermore, he announced promotions for 74 faculty members to the ranks of Professor and Associate Professor, as well as 87 additional staff promotions across various levels.

Addressing the ongoing challenges related to student housing, the Vice Chancellor expressed concern over the increasing difficulties in providing adequate accommodation due to the continuous rise in student admissions each year.

He urged individuals, groups, and organizations to collaborate with the university through various partnership models, including build-operate-transfer or build-and-operate schemes.
