Favour Idhugwe’s academic journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and determination. She rose from repeating a class in secondary school to graduating as a double first-class lawyer at just 22 years old. Favour’s story began at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), where she studied Law and graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2023.
Despite facing challenges, Favour maintained excellence and went on to attend the Nigerian Law School in 2024. She initially struggled but found clarity during her externship and graduated with another First Class in 2025, ranking 31st out of 4,429 students nationwide.
Favour’s achievements extend beyond academics. She served as Assistant Financial Secretary, Deputy Speaker, and Chief of Staff of the Law Students’ Society and Public Relations Officer of the Students’ Representative Council. She also built a YouTube lifestyle channel with over 5,000 subscribers and 400,000+ views, winning Content Creator of the Year 2023.
Reflecting on her journey, Favour described herself as “once an average student who went to school because she had to, later finding purpose and achieving so many things within the four walls of the university.” Her story is an inspiration to aspiring lawyers and scholars alike.
Favour’s determination and divine guidance played a significant role in her success. “I was once asked to repeat a class and felt school wasn’t for me. Today, I’ve left the university and the Nigerian Law School with a First Class. This is evidence that whatever you put your mind to, you can achieve,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
Favour’s achievement serves as a reminder that with hard work, discipline, and faith, one can overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.
