A lecturer of Yaba College of Technology, YABATECH, Lagos has told some of his students to do a “pick pin” as a punishment during class.

Needle picking is a punishment commonly performed in many Nigerian secondary schools.
It involves someone bending over as if they are about to pick up a needle, using their fingers, and keeping them in this position for several hours.
A circulating video shows that the students are being punished much to the annoyance of their coursemates.
The reason for making them serve such punishment was however not known.
Reacting to the video shared online, some people had this to say:

Even when I was in school, I will never have done this. You people’s generation is all mouth online and no liver in reality.

Sue them period. This is violation of the student’s rights and misuse of office by the lecturer.
