A Ghanaian banker with a first-class degree and a 3.75 master’s GPA is considering quitting his job as a bank branch manager after comparing his earnings and status to highly paid online streamers like iShowSpeed, saying the meaning of success has changed.

A Ghanaian banker is rethinking his career choices after discovering the massive earnings of popular YouTuber iShowSpeed. Despite holding a first-class degree and a master’s degree with a 3.75 GPA, he feels his position as a bank branch manager no longer commands the respect it once did.
The banker expressed his frustration in a video shared online, stating, “I studied hard, earned a first class, and graduated with a 3.75 GPA in my master’s degree programme, yet I am still not a ‘big man’, I am just a branch manager of a bank.” He believes the meaning of success has changed over the years, and being a branch manager is no longer prestigious.
Inspired by online streamers like iShowSpeed, who reportedly earns $2.5 million monthly, and comedian Carter Efe, the banker is considering joining the streaming world. “I have been thinking about my target, ShowSpeed, streaming, and how much the world has changed,” he said.
The banker’s decision has sparked reactions online, with some supporting his decision and others questioning his priorities. He warned viewers not to interfere with his plans if he decides to pursue online streaming.
This incident highlights the changing perceptions of success and the impact of social media on career choices.
