Two Police Applicants Arrested Over Alleged Forged NECO Results in Bauchi

Two applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force were arrested during screening at the Police Training School Bauchi after they were caught with forged results from the National Examinations Council.

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two applicants seeking to join the police force after they were found with suspected forged examination results during a recruitment screening exercise at the Police Training School Bauchi.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib. According to him, the screening exercise was supervised by A. Y. Dickson, who led the team responsible for evaluating candidates at the training facility.

Habib explained that a total of 403 candidates were screened during the exercise. This number included 354 applicants who applied for general duty positions and 49 candidates who applied as specialists.

During the screening, two candidates were discovered to have submitted forged results from the National Examinations Council (NECO). The suspects were both identified as Yusuf Usman and were reportedly seen moving together throughout the screening process before the irregularities in their documents were detected.

Following the discovery, the team leader ordered that the suspects be handed over to the Divisional Police Officer of the ‘E’ Division for further investigation. The police also cautioned prospective applicants to avoid engaging in fraudulent practices during recruitment.
