FUOYE has suspended two students accused of cyberbullying former SUG president James Adio by allegedly leaking his private affairs online, while investigations into the incident continue.

The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti has suspended two students over allegations of cyberbullying the institution’s suspended Students’ Union Government (SUG) president, James Iyanuoluwa Adio.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Tajudeen Opoola, the affected students—Alao Iyanuoluwa Odunayo and Olawale Abiodun Samuel—were accused of conspiring to publish Adio’s private matters online after he allegedly failed to meet their financial demands.
The university condemned the action, describing it as misconduct capable of damaging the institution’s reputation. While investigations continue, both students have been directed to remain on suspension with immediate effect.
The university stated that it is committed to eliminating any behaviour that could tarnish its image and disrupt discipline within the institution.
The development follows the suspension of Adio last week alongside a deputy director in the Students Affairs Division over allegations of extortion. University authorities alleged that he was indirectly linked to the collection of ₦1,000 from newly admitted students for practical sessions, with about ₦700,000 reportedly traced to his personal account.
After his suspension, a private explicit video allegedly involving him surfaced online and spread widely across social media, attracting reactions from students and prompting intervention by the National Association of Nigerian Students.
