The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of three Federal University of Lafia students, rescued one victim, and is continuing efforts to free the remaining two and arrest the kidnappers.


The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of three students of the Federal University of Lafia following an attack on their off-campus residence.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday after the university’s Chief Security Officer reported that armed kidnappers invaded Living Seed Lodge, located on the outskirts of the students’ residential area, and abducted three students.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, directed the immediate deployment of tactical teams, patrol officers, and other security personnel to the area. The operatives launched a coordinated search-and-rescue operation in the surrounding forest.
The police said their swift response led to the rescue of one of the abducted students, while efforts have been intensified to secure the release of the remaining two victims and arrest those responsible for the attack.
The command assured residents that all available operational and intelligence resources have been mobilised to ensure the victims are rescued safely and the kidnappers are brought to justice.
Residents were also urged to remain calm, stay vigilant, and continue providing timely and credible information that could assist the ongoing operation. The police further advised members of the public to promptly report any suspicious movement or activities to the nearest police station.
