A female NYSC member has alleged that her PPA rejected her because of her body size, sparking widespread online debate while the claim remains unverified.

A female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has stirred conversations online after alleging that she was turned away by her Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) because of her body size.
The claim emerged in a viral video showing the corps member dressed in her NYSC uniform. The video featured a caption suggesting she had been emotionally affected by the experience.
Sharing her side of the story through an on-screen message, she said the rejection deeply hurt her and described it as discrimination. According to her, it was painful to face such treatment in a programme designed to promote national unity. Despite the setback, she maintained that her ability to serve and succeed should not be judged by her physical appearance or body size.
The corps member, however, did not reveal the identity of the organisation involved or provide additional details about what led to the alleged rejection.
Her allegation has since sparked debate across social media, with many users expressing differing opinions on whether the incident amounted to discrimination.
Some commenters sympathised with her, describing the alleged treatment as unfair and calling for an investigation. Others questioned whether there was more to the story, arguing that the available information lacked sufficient context. A few users criticised her claim, while others insisted that rejecting someone solely because of their body size would amount to discrimination and could violate their rights.
One commenter suggested she seek legal action if the allegation was true, while another argued that emotional reactions would not solve the situation and encouraged her to focus on improving her health.
As of the time of reporting, the NYSC had not issued any official statement regarding the allegation, and the claim has not been independently verified.
