Enoch Sunday Maisamari, a 200-level Microbiology student at the Federal University of Kashere, was found dead in a stagnant water body days after he went missing, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.


A 200-level student of the Federal University of Kashere (FUK) in Gombe State has been found dead after reportedly going missing for several days.
The deceased, identified as 28-year-old Enoch Sunday Maisamari, was a Microbiology student in the university’s Faculty of Science. His body was recovered from a stagnant water body in Sabon Garin Yero village, close to Kashere town in Akko Local Government Area.
According to reports, Maisamari had not been seen since Sunday after attending a graduation celebration organised by final-year students of the university.
A source said the body was discovered by police officers on Tuesday morning. The university was informed of the discovery, and one of the student’s classmates later confirmed his identity.
The Gombe State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that it received an official report about the recovery of the body on Wednesday morning.
Police spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi said the body was taken to the General Hospital in Kashere, where medical personnel confirmed that the student had died.
He added that there were no visible signs of physical injury on the body, but investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
Maisamari was from Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
