UNN Off-campus Accommodation: Looking for Accommodation in UNN (Nsukka Campus)? Then read this! See pictures and number of house agent below.

The primary aim of this page is to guide UNN Lions and Lioness to choose the right off-campus lodge. This page will also show you a reliable agent that can find the lodge or house of your taste.

UNN Off-Campus Accommodation

Now If you don’t want to stay in School Hostel, its paramount you know the type, cost, and location of off-campus lodges/houses within UNN.

Prices of UNN Off-Campus Lodges

Self contained: The prices of self contain depends on the location and closeness to school. So I will list them according to location/villages.

1. Odenigwe and Hilltop: You will see self contain from N120,000 (kindoff far from campus) to N200,000 (close to campus and sometimes have water). In UNN, one of their major problem is Water.
2. Odim Gate, Behind Flat, and Green House: Self-con in these areas are kindoff cheap. These is majorly because its kindoff far from school. The prices ranges from N120,000 to N160,000.

Single Room: You can see houses as cheap as N50,000 but they are most times far from campus. The prices of single room are from N50,000 to N70,000. This applies most times to all areas. 99% of single rooms don’t have bore-hole water. You have to buy tank water for N30 per 30litres gallon.

Types of UNN Off-Campus Lodges/Houses

There are majorly two types of lodges in unn…the single room and self contained.

Single Room: The single room is a type of lodge where all the tenants in the lodge uses the same toilet and bathroom. The price of these lodges depends on the location and the features.

Self Contain: Self contain is a room with toilet, bathroom and sometimes kitchen and balcony. Similarly, the prices varies from location and features. See image below for sample of self contained lodge in UNN.

Location of Off-Campus Lodges in UNN

There are five major towns/villages in UNN. These villages are where the off-campus lodges are located. Viz; Hilltop, Odenigwe, Odim Gate, Behind Flat and Green-House. The villages were listed according to population the carry. Hilltop is the most populated. The closeness to campus depends on the students department.

How Secure is UNN Off-Campus.

Few lodges in “Odenigwe” and Hilltop are known for insecurity. My course-mate in his year one, forfeited his One year rent because of the “bad boys”. Some persons lost their valuable personal belongings because of these “bad boys”.

If you must stay in Off Camp, please meet someone you trust (at least to an extent) to help you find a convenient and secured lodge. 
There’s an Igbo saying that that says; he who says “God Protect me” should not “kill himself by his Own Hands”. 

If however you didn’t see anyone to help you find “lodge” don’t worry, am here to help! Having stayed for at least three years in Nsukka, I know the exact lodges that have issues with security. I take as my responsibility to ensure you stay in a secured environment. 

How to Get Off-campus Lodge in UNN

Now that I have cleared all the important things to know about UNN Off-Campus Accommodation, it’s time to know how to get a secured, affordable and comfortable house in Nsukka Campus.

The good news is  I will help you find a convenient lodge of your choice. When I mean convenient, the lodge will have Light, Security and Water (if you have the money). These features really depends on the price of the lodge.
