UNN Hostel Accommodation Portal 2024/2025 Open Date [UPDATED]

This is to notify the University community that hostel allocation portal will open for the freshmen (First Years) students for both Nsukka (UNN) and Enugu Campus (UNEC) as follows:

UNN Hostel Portal Open Date

The Portal for allocation of hostel accommodation (Bed Spaces) at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC) for the 2024/2025 Session will commence on Monday, 24 February, 2025.

The Department has put everything in place for our lions and lionesses. The dates for opening accommodation portal are as follows:

The schedule for the exercise is as follows:

UNN opens Enugu Campus hostel accommodation portal, 2024/2025

1) 100% of Final year bed spaces will open on Monday, February 24, 2025.

2) 100% of other year bed spaces will open on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

3) 70% of the 1st year bed spaces will open on Thursday, February 27, 2025, and the remaining 30% at a later date to be announced.

Staff children are strongly advised to apply for bed spaces with other students when the Portal opens for their respective groups, as there are extremely limited numbers of concessional bed spaces available.

Key points to note if you are interested in securing a bed space in UNEC hostels:

1) You can only have access to the hostel accommodation portal if you have fully paid fees.

2) The hostel accommodation portal will open by 10:00 am in the morning on the scheduled days.

3) Allocated bed spaces must be paid for within 72 hours, otherwise, they will be revoked and reallocated.

4) It is an offence to sell your bed space to another student (or anyone) or to allow another student (or anyone) to squat, whether for economic gains or otherwise. Be informed that this is an offence punishable by at least two (2) semesters of rustication.

Any other necessary information regarding the opening of the hostel accommodation portal will be communicated accordingly.

Cost of UNN Hostel Accommodation

UNN Hostel Charges are:

• N12,000.00 for Male hostels and;
• N20,000 for Okeke Female hostels and 15,000 for other female hostels
• LINK ROOMS AND 2 MAN ROOMS (in Enugu Campus) – N18,000.00

Things to Note About UNN Hostel Accommodation.

New and Old Students are to take note of the following;

1. The University has limited spaces for student accommodation.
2. The accommodation is allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
3. First Year and final year students are given high priority during allocation.
4. First years are allocated 40% of the total accommodation, final years 30% while others and
   special needs are allocated 30%.
5. All Nursing Mothers must apply for accommodation online and must notify the authorities early.
   (You are permitted to stay alone in a room or be two persons in a room).
6. The following are highly prohibited and will attract eviction from the hostel:
   •  Squatting of any kind.
   •  Late return to the hostel at night.
   •  Smoking.
   •  Drinking of Alcohol.
   •  Stealing.
   •  Fighting and quarrelling.
   •  Use of hotplates, electric boiling ring, refrigerator, gas cooker and so on.
   •  Use of generator sets.
   • Defecating and bathing at undesignated places.
   •  Pouring of water in undesignated places.
   •  Defacing of Hostel walls by posting of bills, posters and any document.
7. Only students who have specifically met the following will be qualified for hostel
   accommodation:
   • Paid all school fees till date.
   • Registered all courses online till date.
   • Possess the University ID card or have been successfully captured.
   •  Possess and use the University student email address.
8. All hostel accommodation invoices are valid for only three days after generation. (Any student
   who fails to pay online within the three day period will forfeit the allocation).
9. All Rev Sisters are to follow the authorized process for accommodation.
10. Physically challenged students must also generate invoice and proceed to make payments.

How to Apply For UNN Hostel Accommodation

NEW METHOD TO APPLY FOR HOSTEL:

• https://unnportal.unn.edu.ng/HostelLanding.aspx
• Enter your registration number and school fees REMITA NUMBER, select hostel and generate invoice.

UNEC FEMALE HOSTEL: Lady ibiam, mariere, manuwa, ojukwu,

UNEC MALE HOSTEL: Kenneth dike, mbaonu ojike

Others hostel should be in Nsukka

The procedure below is the old method,

Make sure you have paid your school fees. To apply, follow the procedures below;

1. Visit UNN Student Portal.
2. Enter your Matric/JAMB registration number and password (for new students, make sure you have created your students profile and pay acceptance fee)
3. Click on hostel
4. Select hostel you want to apply with.
5. Select the room number.
   • Very Important: Bello Hostel/hall is reserved for only pharmacy students. Also note that Corner A, B, C, D is for final year, third year, second year and first year respectively.
6. Click on Apply.
7. Print the Invoice carrying your RRR number and proceed to the bank or make payment using
   your ATM Card
8. Return to the portal and Click on Hostel Allocation.
9. Click on pay for your hostel and enter your Remita Retrieval Reference number.
10. Submit and print Receipt.
11. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ABOVE PROCESS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 3 DAYS ELSE YOU LOSE THE ALLOCATION.
