Nigerian students are probable to be sent home as universities workers are entangled in a sharing formula dispute.

Reports suggest that the crisis that threaten to lead to the imminent strike is a result of the sanctioned N22.127 billion for payment of earned allocations for the university employees.
Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) is to take the larger share of about 75 percent of the total sum, then the other three will apportion the 25 percent remaining.
The three union are the Nonacademic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions (NASU), the Senior State Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), and the National Association of Academic Technologist (NAAT)
Information made known to journalists in Abuja expressed that out of the endorsed amount, ASUU is to take the larger part, while the other unions will share the remaining 25 percent among themselves.
Rescind that the last 40billion earned allowances issued by the Federal Government for the four universities based union where ASUU bagged 75 percent of the total sum had given rise to adversity in the university system.
This has prompted the Nonteaching staff to reject the 25 percent allotment for the 3 unions.
According to Tribune Online, SSANU and NASU have given the federal government 2 weeks proposition to alter the sharing formula for the N22.127 billion earned allowances.
