Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi, begins Ph.D. in Law at University of London, UK

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has disclosed that he has gone back to school to acquire PhD in Law.

The former governor of CBN has gone back to school to study Islamic Law at the doctorate level at the University of London, UK.

He is currently combining an academic responsibility at Oxford University with his new role as a PhD student. He is as well currently a visiting fellowship at the prestigious Oxford University in the UK.

Sanusi is no doubt very educated and one of the most educated and experienced monarch to have ever served.

A peep into his educational background shows that after receiving Islamic education in Kano he started his early education at the St. Annes Primary School, Catholic boarding school in Kaduna.

He proceeded to King’s College, Lagos, where he studied between the years 1973 and 1977. He later went on to obtain his first degree in Economics at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, ABU in 1981. He got his Master’s degree in Economics from the same University later.

He had earned a second bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies and Fiqhu (Islamic jurisprudence) at the Africa International University in Khartoum, Sudan in 1997.

He began his working career at ABU where he taught Economics. He later went on to take up a career in banking which eventually led to his appointment as a CBN governor in 2009 in the Umaru Musa Yar’adua administration.
