Akwa Ibom approves educational radio programme for students

Akwa Ibom approves educational radio programme for students most especially students of SSS 3 and JSS3 students that are going to write WAEC, NECO and JSCE to refresh their memories in this lockdown.

Akwa Ibom State government has approved School-On-Radio programme to impart knowledge to students during the lockdown occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic.
This was part of the decisions taken at the state Executive Council meeting presided over by the state Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

Briefing the media, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Udoh, said the programme would be aired in the state owned radio station, adding that the Ministry of Education is working out details of the programme.

“Government felt that as the lockdown continues, our children who are to prepare for external examinations like the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO) examinations, as well as Junior Secondary School examination should be given opportunity to refresh their memories.

“So the state government thought it wise to activate a programme, where children in JSS 3 and SSS 3 are given the opportunity to revise and learn from remote locations.”

Udoh said the educational radio programme would be undertaken over an extended period of about 42 weeks or as the case may be. He encouraged students to avail themselves of the learning opportunity, while at home during the lockdown.
