Akwa Ibom Governor Grants Automatic Employment to First-Class Graduate

Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno offered automatic employment to Mkpouto-Abasi Ime Umossoh, a First-Class Nautical Science graduate, following an appeal for support during his inspection of ARISE Park.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has offered automatic employment to Mkpouto-Abasi Ime Umossoh, a First-Class graduate in Nautical Science from the Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) in Chennai, India.

Governor Eno made this gesture after Umossoh appealed for support during the governor’s inspection visit to ARISE Park in Uyo. Umossoh, who is from Essien Udim Local Government Area, also holds a National Diploma from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, and is qualified to work as a 3rd Officer onboard a ship. He expressed his need for stable employment to help care for his elderly parents.

Moved by Umossoh’s situation, Governor Eno instructed the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, to coordinate with the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Orman Esin, to secure Umossoh a position in the State’s passenger cruise ship project, pending a background check by the Commissioner for Internal Security, General Koko Essien.

During his visit to ARISE Park, the governor expressed satisfaction with the progress and the innovative efforts to transform a hazardous gully erosion site into a future wealth-generating tourism hub.
