The Yobe State University, Damaturu branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has said that it would embark on a two-week warning strike with effect from Tuesday, 8th June 2021 if its demands as contained in the earlier resolution dated 18th January 2021 and 18th February 2021 are not attended to.


Mohammed Saje, Branch Chairperson of ASUU, Yobe State University, Damaturu stated in a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor titled ‘Notice of Local Strike Action’ dated 25th May 2021 received by the Vice Chancellor’s Office on 26th May 2021 on behalf of the Congress.
“Sequel to the congress meeting held on 25th May 2021, I wish to inform you that the congress has resolved and directed its members to embark on two weeks warning strike with effect from Tuesday 8th June 2021 if its demands as contained in the earlier resolution dated 18th January 2021 and 18th February 2021 respectively are not attended to. In view of this, the management is hereby formally notified of the development.”
