The University of Benin confirmed that three students rescued from a collapsed building in Ekosodin are in stable condition, with no fatalities reported, and are receiving treatment in the hospital.

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has confirmed that three students who were rescued from a collapsed building are in stable condition and receiving treatment in the hospital.
The collapse occurred at a student residence in Ekosodin, a neighboring community, following heavy rainfall that started on Friday. The building, which housed several students, gave way on Saturday.
In a statement released on Saturday, the university’s management provided an update, stating that a team composed of security personnel, the fire service, health center staff, students, and the police successfully rescued the trapped students.
Initially, the students were taken to the university’s health center, with two later transferred to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital for further care.
“The management wishes the affected students a speedy recovery and commends the rescue team for their brave efforts,” the statement said.
An eyewitness reported that no lives were lost, although several students sustained injuries in the incident.
